Music analysis:
shutter Island - Throughout the film shutter island we hear a vary of diegetic and non diegetic sound. The music that plays tends to be very eerie, however gradually picks up to a loud climax which causes suspense and tension in the audience. This is constant throughout the film. Non diegetic sound is also present as we hear the waves of the sea in the backdrop. This gives the audience an insight of the setting and makes the audience feel as if they are there.
Halloween - In this film the music gradually builds up getting louder and louder. This creates a feel of suspense and tension, leaving the audience guessing what will happen next? The music is played on a piano and is therefore very high pitch. This creates a feel of un comfort and the inconsistency in pitch causes the audience to feel on edge. The music also increases in pace and replicates a heartbeat.
Se7en - Similar to Halloween the music in this thriller gets louder and louder causing a feel of tension in the audience. However in se7en the music is very disorientated and varies in pitch. This creates and feeling of mystery in the audience and essentially warns the audience to expect the un expected.
